The terrain is characterised by extreme arid conditions — annual rainfall below 300 mm, ambient temperatures exceeding 45°C in summer, and ironstone mesa formations. Water supply is operationally critical: FMG relies on deep aquifer extraction and closed-loop recycling circuits to sustain dust suppression, processing, and camp services across this hyper-arid environment.

As an operating DSO asset under FMG's Solomon Hub, Kings-Solomon feeds a continuous mining-to-rail-to-port value chain. B2B vendors must account for:

• Mobile maintenance workshops on-site to minimise haul-truck downtime (CAT 793/797 fleet)
• Tyre management and GET (Ground Engaging Tools) supply contracts
• Fuel logistics under extreme heat protocols
• Drill-and-blast consumables procurement cycles

Local mechanical workshop capacity is non-negotiable — remote location makes off-site repair economically prohibitive.

Kings-Solomon produces high-grade hematite DSO, requiring minimal beneficiation. Core infrastructure includes:

• Primary jaw and gyratory crushing circuits at ROM pad level
• Dry screening and lump/fines separation plant
• Overland conveyor and train load-out facility
• Dedicated 270 km private heavy-haul railway to Port Hedland
